It looks like it doesn't have a chance at 3 million in Japan before 2013 (or even 10 million worldwide for that matter)

Indeed, Japan seems to be a wee bit tired of 2D Mario games. Of course, this will still end up being one of the best selling games on the 3DS and of all time there.
