My thoughts exactly. I'll start by installing Windows 8. I don't have a current need for a tablet, but when I need a new phone it will be a Win 8 Phone. And of course I'll be getting the next Xbox.

I am hopefully getting a tablet to replace my desktop. But if i can't do that i will stick with a desktop and put windows 8 on it. I dont want to have both

While the Surface is a real computer, it is limited compared to a desktop machine. Don't expect to play the latest and greatest games on a Surface even though it runs Win 8. I'd say the surface is more of a replacement for a laptop than a desktop.
