Nintedo as a third party would be a MAJOR force that could shake other third party company to their core... even if nintendo would go third party, they would most likely keep their home and portable console (just look at the number.) If they would let go of their console they would have done it on the nin 64 era or even gc era, but with their current numbers they would still be on the console market for at least the next 2 generations (couting the 3ds and wii u.)
