You need to create an FTP account within your web hosting service.

There are other ways, but if you want to do it with IP, then open Start (Windows), search for "cmd", press enter and then type in:
ping "websiteyouwanttheIPfrom"

For example:
ping vgchartz.com

Result:
65.111.186.138
