Nintendo probably doesn't want to splinter the market with some devs focusing on twin stick and forgetting that some users only have one.

My question is how will the larger screen effect battery life. The original 3DS didn't have great battery life so hopefully the XL will have a bigger battery to go with the bigger screen.

Oh and I hope the Circle Pad Pro is compatible or they better make a Circle Pad Pro XL.

Well, with a bigger device, there's also more space for a larger battery. Supposedly, battery life is nearly doubled.

I just read the article at IGN and it says it will last between 3.5 and 6.5 hours for 3DS games. The original was 3 to 5 hours. That's not double the time. I was hoping for 10 to 20 hours.

It frustrates me that all of today's devices have such terrible battery life. Laptops, tabs, smart phones, and handheld gaming systems all have too short of battery lives to seriously travel. You always have to pack a charger and you can't take off into the boonies and count on the batteries to last.

Nintendo should include two or three battery packs and an external charger so you can go on a camping trip without rationing your game time.
