UK just doesn't seem to care about gaming that much, other than the 360 it seems. I wonder if the population is older overall in UK? That might be it.

A quick Google search will tell you that the UK only has half as many people as Japan, and about a fifth as many as the USA. It's only natural they'd have comparatively low sales.
