Hardcore console gamers are holding the industry back. They don't like any change, hence the ditching of the PS3 boomerang controller. I haven't bothered to read through this thread, but I will say this, the controller is reportedly very comfortable and has all the buttons you would need to play modern games (in addition to the touch screen which has a lot of neat applications), but because it doesn't look exactly like a PS1 dual shock or an evolved Dream Cast controller(due to 360s success, although you still have A LOT of people bitching about it's stick placement, when it really does feel more natural for navigating 3d space.) people will say its a terrible controller.
