laugh now if you want but at the end of next gen when (wii + ps3 + 360) > (wii U + ps4 + nextBox) marking the first ever decline in the console market you won't be laughing anymore.

Oh, c'mon! that ain't gonna happen: at the very least they next gen will end up like this one will; around 250m (more likely 260)

sorry but it's true.  with the movement to mobile in the east, tablets in the west, smartphones and new services like onlive consoles are going to contract.  people are still going to be gaming...just not on consoles as much.

it won't happen as long as tablets don't have the same quality for games. people who play halo, uncharted or whatever won't stop buying a console if they would have to play it with worse quality/controls on tablets. and if they would have the same quality, there wouldn't be a problem with a replacement. and you can't use it to play these party and family games which means, casual gamers who use consoles for that won't buy a tablet as wii or xbox with kinect or whatever replacement. i don't see my brother with his son and daughter sitting on a couch with three tablets having fun together...

so, as long as tablets won't get much  better games and controls, they won't replace consoles. and if they will be as good as a xbox or playstation, i don't see the problem to use a tablet on a tv to play the same quality games.
