Max Payne 2 was sadly a flop. Selling around 2.5 million copies.
The first game sold around 4.5 million on PC and PS2 alone. So maybe 5.5 million including Xbox and Mac.
I wouldn't call Max Payne a dead franchise, but a lot of the fans are not impressed with the change in... well everything.
However Rockstar on the front cover alone should secure it at least 2 million on the 360 alone. It has a good chance of selling 4 million wolrd wide.
