Bowser's Inside Story is a Reconstruction of the JRPG. Basically, the plot is funny instead of angsty, the world can be explored, the combat is both turn based and action packed, and the entire thing has the classic Nintendo charm. Plus, you get to play as Bowser. In a starring role.

Bowser as a playable character in an action-RPG is beautiful.

Oh, and don't bother with SM64DS. The controls sucked.

Thanks. You guys have really built up Bowser's Inside Story so I guess that's a must have and I will order it tonight.

Out of curioisity, how are the the graphics on DS games? I'm not a graphics whore by any stretch. My favourite current gen games are Mario Kart wii, and Halo 3 as I really do put playability and fun factor at the top of my priority list. I'm just curious as to what I should expect visually when I fire up my first DS game. What gen are the graphics comparable to?

Imagine a universe where the N64 was mostly used to make 2D games. That's roughly the DS. It is in some respects superior and inferior to the N64. The resolution is smaller for DS games, and the N64 has a few more polygons per screen, but the DS has better framerate, and more horsepower per pixel.

The thing is though, most DS games use 2D graphics, and the relatively few 3D games tend to be very clean looking, so the DS looks more powerful than the N64, even if it isn't.
