Perhaps. But both games used versions of existing engines, and in the case of Mercenaries 3D, ripped off a a lot of characters and stages from earlier games. As for Revelations, it's week 1 was about 1/3 as big as RE5's on the PS3. RE5 had fantastic legs, and has probably reached 5 million if you count the various versions on just the PS3. Nintendo handhelds are infamous for giving games legs, suggesting that if Revelations follows a similar pattern, it will easily clear a million and possibly go on to 1.5 million over the 3DS's life. Not bad for a game made on an existing engine.
