58% is a bit misleading. Is it by revenue or total sales. Total sales wouldn't be as impressive considering there are thousands of steam indie/arcade games that are never sold retail, that skew the results. I wish valve would do a comparision of individual titles. Skyrim or MW3 would be pretty interesting to see because they have yet to have a ridiculous sale on steam to skew the results. Then we will know how much a "full fledged" pc game typically sells retail vs digital at full price.
Either way very impressive that steam has over a 50% marketshare in digital distribution. Suprised EA is that low, though I think these charts are a bit outdated. I could have sworn I've seen them a few months ago.
