I wouldn't worry about Mario Party 9. Even if it only does 1/3 as well as MP8, it will still sell millions. And if the game is as good as early reviews indicate, it should have a stronger word of mouth too. I think it can easily outsell the 5th and 6th generation MPs.
MGS3D had under 50,000 preorders. I think the HD collection killed its chances for sucess.
