Weight increase but more likely Money... while the US have all these high tech stuff when they can cut costs they will do it.. They exist, they put them on Spaceship Boosters for one.  I wouldn't put them on a blackhawk which would carry people.... but an unmanned Drone?

probably because it was designed to return to point of origin and land itself if it loses contact with its operator.
