Well in this weeks pal charts someone posted this which i found very interesting.

These are total sales in Europe of the highest grossing games for 2010. The list is ordered by revenue rather then total sales so some of the games aren't in order saleswise but it still lists total sales of the games. Its from GfK and Chart-Track, not random numbers some kid made up.

This is how I checked how much the games sold in EMEAA according to vgchartz

http://www.vgchartz.com/yearly.php?reg=Others&console=&date=2010&maker=

The key games that vgchartz seems to be overtracking BY A LOT are Gran Turismo 5, Halo Reach, Final Fantasy, and Assassins Creed.

Gran Turismo 5 sold 3.25mil according to vgchartz. It only sold 2mil in Europe. Maybe 300k more in launch bundles.
It only shipped 230k in Asia http://www.polyphony.co.jp/english/list.html
(That includes Australia since they don't list it and all the listed regions=total gt5 shipments ww)
Overtracked by at least 700k in Emeaa.
Halo Reach sold 1.75mil according to vgchartz. It only sold 1.15mil in europe. Couldn't have sold more then 200k in Asia and Australia. Maybe 100k from launch bundles.
Overtracked by at least 300k in EMEAA not to mention at least 700k in America according to npd numbers.
Assassins Creed Brotherhood sold 2.6mil according to vgchartz. It only sold 1.9mil in Europe. At most 150k in Asia. Maybe 100k Australia
Overtracked by at least 500k in EMEAA.
Final Fantasy XIII sold 2mil according to vgchartz. It only sold 1.1mil in Europe. I assume JRPGS sell well in Asia but even if sales were almost half of europe's
Overtracked by at least 500k in EMEAA probably a lot more.

Those seem to be overtracked by the most but there are a few others overtracked as well according to that chart.

Obviously no company is perfect at tracking sales but these differences seem too big.

At first I thought Fifa 2011 was undertracked but i forgot to include PS2 and PC numbers in which case even it seems slightly overtracked

So am I missing something. Is there some magical country not part of mainland europe but part of EMEAA that buys hundreds of thousands of copies of every game. Or are games bundled A LOT more in EMEAA then I thought. Usually I only hear about ridiculous 360 bundles in Europe though so that wouldn't explain all the games.

I made assumptions for some of the games' Asia/Oceana sales but theres no way around GT5 sales considering shipments by regions are shown on polyphony's website and even if I'm underestimating Asia/Oceana for the other games it can't be by more then a hundred thousand or so but I actually think I'm overestimating them.
