In 1 generation, Call of Duty has sold as a franchise more then grand theft auto, final fantasy, halo, zelda, donkey kong, or gran turismo, games that have been among the most successful ips ever over multiple generations
It will actually probably give even pokemon a run for its money if it stays popular for 3 or 4 more years. No matter how much people complain about this milking, can anyone really blame activision. They have made more money in one gen then any ip ever has other than mario since pokemon games only cost $30.
And honestly I wouldn't really mind, but the game has single handedly nearly killed the fps market, all you can get nowadays are cod clones.
