I'd have to disagree in this case. The huge initial focus on Kinect support clearly led a lot of people to think it was a full exclusive, add to that the fact most timed exclusives sell less as full games (i.e. it works for DLC like with MW but not a full title) and the Move support was announced very late and came across as more of a belated add on and you're going to lose sales on PS3. TBH though the confusion and lack of focus of the marketing hurt the game on 360 too IMHO so I'm not saying it would be a huge seller. But if it had been marketed equally for Kinect/Move I firmly believe sales would have been more even. If it had been marketed and positioned better full stop then I think the title would have seen even stronger sales. TBH though I think Eden belongs more in the download list of XBLA/PSN as a premier digital title than on a retail shelf where it has to compete with the AAA retail titles for attention, and that was surely a large part of the problem. |
I have to agree with you on all points and I own the game for 360. I had no idea the PS3 version had Move support as I remember at one point it was stated that it wouldn't. Also I think this title would have sold boatloads on XBLA/PSN because it would have been promoted better. I noticed people outside of the forum junkies don't really know what it is.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.
