Every high profile Wii game is compared against what the 360/PS3 are capable of technically, and docked points because of it.

Just a swift look through recent "big" titles on the Wii shows that isn't the case. Here are a list of "big-ish" titles on the Wii and their awarded 'graphics' score.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 - 10
Conduit 2 - 9
de Blob 2 - 8
Mario Sports Mix - 7.5
Mario All-Stars - 8
Disney Epic Mickey - 8.5
Donkey Kong Country Returns - 9
Sonic Colors - 9
Call of Duty: Black Ops - 7
Goldeneye 007 - 8.5
Wii Party - 6.5
SpiderMan: Shattered Dimensions - 8
Metroid: Other M - 9

Out of all those titles the only one docked points in graphics was CoD:BO because it actually released for the other platforms. The rest of those games (with the exception of Wii Party) 'allegedly' look as good, if not better than Xenoblade according to IGN. I don't think many would agree that Xenoblade is only 0.5 better in the graphics department than Wii Party. The worlds are more expansive than any of those titles while providing the same level of fidelity as any of those titles bar SMG 2. The art is excellent to boot. It's all simply seems because of what Rol has been stating - the reviewer wanted it to be on next gen platforms.

I'm sure more than a handful of people would be ornery if everything was compared to the tops of what a PC could push out.

Sorry, I should have specified that I was looking beyond IGN and to game reviewers in general.  Many games have been docked points for simply being on the Wii.
