Is that before or after the world blows up? cause that's only half way through the game, not the final dungeon if it's before 

After you jump onto the airship and the world blows up. Then start on the island...then reassemble your team. I did all that. Gave me a very...Breath of Fire sort of nostalgia.

But yeah, Kefka's palace/tower/fortress that you have to land the airship onto.

To answer your question though, the world had already blown up.
