That's what I'm finding surprising.  Europe get's it's Wii/DSi shop updates every Friday, I would've expected that 3DS would have had the same.

Just noticed that the American press release, says the same thing. Why make different online regions if they will all update the same day?

The cards are real money, they represent quantities in Yen, its similar to the 100 points = 1 dollar = 1 euro, but they decided to skip the conversion to points.
