3 years ago (going from the announcement of the game, not the release), there was this little game called The Conduit that was supposed to usher in a new era of FPS games for Wii. Obviously that never happened because since then, us faithful Wii owners have gotten a GoldenEye remix, a couple of meh CoD ports, and I guess you could count Metroid Prime Trilogy. Oh and Red Steel 2. So why FPS games taken off on Wii? Idk. Maybe Epic Games is too busy trying to figure out to kill off some douchebag or Carmine because they can't figure it out for themselves. Tools.

Anyway, Conduit 2 is finally here and promises split-screen multi, online, great graphics, perfect controls...ya know, the things every game promises. So now, after us faithful Nintendo fans hopes and dreams were dashed by the first Conduit, why should we bother picking up the sequel which apparently replaced Michael Sorbo with the Duke Nukem guy. And Conduit 2 is rated T so they can't even say fuck. That's just ridiculous. Are they trying to beat Duke Nukem Forever in terms of awesome? Because I'm pretty sure that's impossible.

Two paragraphs in and I still haven't told you why Conduit 2 sucks. Well let me explain it to you with this simple, but very elegant, bulleted list:

- no swearing beyond "damn". This is the Wii after all.

- It's a sequel to a pretty average shooter.

- It's been 2 years since the release of the original. Why would anyone buy a sequel to a game that wasn't that good in the first place?

As for the online, I haven't bothered trying it out. But I've gotten so used to VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat) that I have no reason to try the multiplayer because it will probably be a hack-fest just like the original. Honestly, when you play games on a dedicated system designed to keep cheaters away, why would you play some shooter that has more issues than Doom over 56k in 1995?

So, does this not make sense to you? Or do I need to spell it out?

By the way, for all those that missed my previous since I stopped making threads a year, welcome to the site.

Oh yeah, almost missed something. High Voltage Software should have at least hired some of those Infinity Ward guys that Activision fired so they could learn how to create a real shooter.
