If you look at the kart, you'll see "fire" on tyre / pneumatic.

You don't see it in the video at all, it looks like Nintendo is implementing a system very similar to the one found in Mario Kart Wii. Which is good, because that leads to actual racing and not ridiculous drunken driving.

I actually agree with you, I love when my friend complains that snaking should be part of the actual racing, and the wii game removed it. :P
