We adjusted down on the 360 figures because we had it at sold more than it had actually shipped lifetime, not just the quarter.
As of January 1st 2011, Sony had shipped 47.92 Million PS3's.
As of January 1st 2011, VGChartz has SOLD figures at 46.3 Million PS3's.
The sold more than shipped thing comes from shipments from previous Quarters. Old stock being sold that was waiting in warehouses/channels.
All that said, if the PS3 gets adjusted down 300,000 units... You would be saying that there would have been close to 2 Million PS3's waiting to be sold on New Year. That's... Too many.
