The UK is a pro-American European country. Game sales there behave a lot more closely to US then say France.
So no I don't think this will happen, I think the real UK battle is the 360 versus the PS2.
Still it's kind of funny, if UK weren't a part of EMEAA in VGChartz, then the EMEAA would be significantly more Sony oriented. However UK is the next biggest market after the US and debatably Japan, so a strong MS preference really helps balance Europe out.
