It’s not a new thing to see games released on Apple’s iPhone/iPod service that are considered ’clones’ to regular, console releases. In most cases, they are developed by a single person and they don’t end up making much money. But what happens when a major developer releases a game that is very similar to another release? What about if the developer of the original game proposed their game to that same studio and was rejected? Well, that’s what seems be the case today.

According to the Twisted Pixel Twitter Feed and CEO Michael Wilford, the recently released Capcom Mobile game MaXplosion is a rip-off of their popular 2009 XBLA game ’Splosion Man. Via Twitter, Wilford mentioned that they originally pitched the idea of ’Splosion Man to Capcom who rejected the idea.

As this is a developing story, Capcom have yet to respond to the accusations. Hopefully we’ll hear more from either side in the very near future.

If you’d like to see maXplosion in action, check out the clip below.
