Will the Wii ever match the 64 in terms of awesome platformers?

Yes they do. 3D Platformers aren't platformer games at all, they are just average treasure hunting, something I can do much better in my backyard.

They have platforming in them as the main part of the gameplay, so they are platformers, and many of them are very good games. (I know that 2D works better for some games, like Mario, but 3D platformers have their place too)

I hope this doesn't turn into an infinate loop :S

They are more about resolving little puzzles like frozeing the water or pressing 8 switches before the time rans out, far of what a platformer is.

But the main gameplay is still platforming. And many of those games are really good games.
