I'm just curious, since the 50k difference between Reach and Halo 3 has been call a statistical tie in this thread, can the same be said of the 67k difference between the 360 and ps3? Or are the standards different between HW and SW? No fanboy shit here for I seriously don't know.

Well depends who you talk to, statistical tie to me, means so close it's almost the same, not a 50k or 67k different, more like 1k.

Doesn't work that way. It's all about the percentages, not the absolute value.

Hence why I said to me Maybe my definition isn't correct but a 50k gap isn't enough for me to call it a tie.

Given that VGChartz tracks with a given margin of error, if the difference is less than the margin, then it's a statistical tie, no matter what ;)

But since it's cumulative sales and they always adjust after quarterly reports, it could mean that we are in the worst case of the quarter, since it's the most days without adjustments (near the end of the quarter) and a 50k difference is probably statistical noise.
