Well basically, imagine the Wiimote is like a keyboard and mouse. Then imagine the keyboard can fit in your hand, and you dont have to put up with the hassle of using wasd (or, God forbid, using the arrows to turn) and then imagine the keyboard can also be used as a mouse.
What do you mean by less reliable? |
Hassle? What are you talking about? Dont get me wrong I always hated the keyboard/mouse combo for most the games I played, but for FPSs, its the perfect combo. The Wiimote failed misserably to replace it, and I doubt that Kinect or Move will fare any batter.
Its simply the perfect combo for FPSs and RTSs, and thats that. No matter how hard you try to convince anyone here, this combo is used and will be used for years when it comes to professional FPS gaming
OT: they hung themselves, thats why. They had a great e3, all the momentum they wanted, all they needed was this TGS to prove that the Wii is not dead 3rd partie wise, and that it still has some fighting chance left in Japan... they failed at it. It won the console war, true, and neither HD console has even a remote chance to take it over hardware or software shipment wise.
The problem is that the majority of the gaming industry is made up by 3rd parties. They shifted now almost entirely towards the HD twins ( with exceptions like DQX or Goldeneye) so of course that the gaming media will mostly write about the PS360. And lets dont forget, bot HD consoles are also getting brand new add-ons, while there is still no news about the vitality sensor...
