Yeah.  I'm still on my first playthrough (over 8 hours so far).  Metroid games are mostly about figuring out where to go next and finding items.  I guess once you figure those out, the games are pretty short.  I remember beating Metroid 2 in well under an hour, with practice.  I think my first Super Metroid playthrough was about 30 hours before I eventually wore it down to about an hour and a half.  Try speed running it, I guess.

I never knew such comments even existed! I'm currently on 7 hours, and am just about to fight Ridley. I don't ever believe that, like d21lewis said, length wasn't really too great in Metroid games, it was more about discovering where to go next...
