I knew quite a few people who unlocked everything in that game, but that game was also released at a time where I was at the right age to have the time and inclination to unlock everything. At 16 I would play Goldeneye with my brother (who was 17) every day and as we got bored with the current available modes we would take on a new challenge to unlock one of the cheats.

Not to mention there weren't that many N64 games out anyways, only 300 over its total life span, and in 1997 there were probably 200 at most.
