Not really in America though. In America it's the biggest franchise in racing. Only one GT game has cracked 4 million in America (GT3 A-Spec). Admittedly it cracked it big time, making over 7 million. But really that's the only super selling GT Game in the Americas. It's the only GT game in America's all time top 50, whereas there are 4 GT games in EMEAA's top 50. As opposed to Halo where in America's all 3 main Halo games are in the top 50, but none of the Halo games are in the EMEAA top 50. Should we say Halo Reach is doing badly in pre-orders in EMEAA if it is substantially below GT5 preorders? History would say comparing GT5 preorders with Halo Reach isn't really a legitimate comparison, even though Halo is one of the biggest franchises in gaming. If Halo: Reach out-preordered GT5 in EMEAA that would be a truly momentous occasion, as would GT5 out-preordering a major shooter franchise in the Americas. |
lol sure since the first week sales of GT4 and Halo 3 were pretty similar.
Besides that your comparison fails. GT5 is only compared to the biggest sellers on the PS3 in America, not Halo.
Furthermore half of the Forza 2 sales in the Americas were from bundles. As far as I can see GT4 was only bundled in Japan and Europe. So GT4 actually doubled Forza's sales in the US.
