If they were afraid of getting lost, RPGs wouldn't make so much sucess there. This is one of the few times that I have to disagree with Iwata, but Japanese (heck, we can consider the whole world, if we compare the sales of 3D and 2D Marios) simply consider that 3D Mario are inferior. The internet can disagreee as much as they want, but that is the truth.
Above: still the best game of the year.
