Not expectations so much as the competition.  Prototype sort of stole it's thunder upfront... when the NPDs came out pretty much everyone thought it was disappointing.

Fair enough. But to be fair to inFamous, it has outsold both versions of Prototype (not combined). The PS3 version, by about 600k.
