I have to say I'm surprised they are pushing this new console within the next year as the DS just had it's best holiday ever in the US (US right? it was somewhere it had its best holiday, but whatever). They must be trying the GBA/DS thing again where they "co-existed" but that didn't really work out.
The DS will still break 140m before the 3DS comes out though.
