You hold the position that Nintendo focused on the "casual market", therefore third parties made (or tried to make) such games too. Of course there are also many core games on the Wii that sold several million units, yet nobody was willing to make such games for the Wii. Case in point: Zelda with about 5m copies sold. The lacking sales of Okami are no valid point, because that game sold poorly on the "core focused" PS2 too, meaning there are problems with the game itself, not the consoles it was released on. Anyway, nobody seems to be willing to make a game for the Zelda fanbase (i.e. you) despite knowing that it takes Nintendo around three years for a new game. There is a huge opportunity to sell such a game, the question is why does nobody try? So essentially we are exactly at the same point where we left off last time. You say it's Nintendo's fault that there aren't better and more core games on the Wii and I, of course, disagree. Just like third parties are to blame for their own sales failures, they are also to blame for not taking opportunities. And in case they do it's usually a halfassed attempt, lacking in quality, appeal, advertisements or all of them. That in turn leads to disappointing sales and the proclamation that core games don't sell. |
Seems that way, so i think we should just get back onto the topic of Mario not being the king of videogames.
