It's all about the SW, which the Wii will be lacking for a few months to come. HW doesn't sell on its own.

The FF13 did help the PS3 for a few weeks last year not to mention the PS3 price reduction and slim release.  But I don't see any games other than Yakuza 3 that would appeal to the Japanese.  The fact the the Wii comes with Wii sports solidfies the casual market for Nintendo.

Wii doesn't come with Wii Sports in Japan, and the PS3 outsold the Wii for many weeks even before the Slim was released. You probably are just guessing.
