PS3 sales are falling very fast. I fail to see how peple think PS3 is going to overtake 360 so quickly when we see that, PS3's advantage in Japan is dwindling fast.
For example, in Dec it was like, 800k PS3 40k 360, PS3 gains 760k.
In January it will be like (at 30k/week) PS3 120k, 360 20k. PS3 gains 100k. Then it will be about even in America (maybe 360 will even win by 50k) and maybe PS3 wins by 50k in EU (or maybe is a tie). So for an entire month maybe PS3 wins by 150k. And 100k of that in a closed off market (Japan) that Western publishers cant sell games in, so they practically dont count.
That's at 30k PS3/week. It will likely plummet to who knows how low soon enough. 20k or 10k. The last two weeks PS3 sales have gone 100k+>60k>30k
