| haxxiy said: @ Kantor - Gow I & II are one of the most pirated titles to ever release. I expect a large boost from Others as PS3 is unhackable. I expect both HH and AW will be buried by the ealry 2010 avalanche which MW2 is to blame. But maybe I'm understimating Zelda Wii potential in the Americas? mmm. This could possibly hack up my prediction by a million or so. Still the series are dropping in Japan like a rock, so it is hard to say, honestly... Oh, and there is no reason to keep a console like the PSP running, honestly. The DS will still be selling heaps, but Nintendo will release it's sucessor to avoid early PSP-2 domination which is quite dangerous. You should expect them to have learned the N64/GC lesson by now. Still this is going the way I like. The predictions are daring and polemical. Bring the discussions! |
GoW: Yes, the games were heavily pirated, which is why I predict 3.5-4 million. More than GoW1, and significantly more than GoWII. But, there's only so much the game can sell. Hack and slash isn't a huge genre, and GoW isn't a huge series.
Heavy Rain and Alan Wake (particularly Heavy Rain) aren't exactly games which people would think "Hey, that looks good" in a game store and buy. They are games that people would know about and be excited for, and buy no matter what. Not very many people, mind you, but some.
Zelda: It will sell less in Japan, probably, but in the West it should sell just fine.
The PSP is profitable, and it still sells hardware, and software in Japan. I could understand a PSP-2 this year, but we won't be seeing a new handheld from Ninty until 2013 at the earliest, I say. Unless by DS-2 you mean something like the DSi or DS Lite, or the GBA SP. Yes, that's very likely. Almost certain.
WE NEED MORE PREDICTORS, especially some who are as daring as haxxiy. Remember, nobody will praise you for getting an obvious prediction right, but if you manage a Leo-J or a Squilliam... (interestingly, they're both terrible at predicting, but both have one fantastic prediction).
