They can just release ANOTHER mario party and people will eat it up. Or another Wii sports and they'll have the casual market by the balls. I am by no means saying that all ninty games not called mario, zelda are metroid are crap, as there are lots of cult hits like Masamune and No More Heroes (they haven't gotten the sales I believe they truly deserve). When you look at the 360 and the PS3 you notice that because they are in the bottom, and competing with eachother, they are forced to release countless great games and even new IPs. ME, ME2, Gears of War, Forza3, GT5, Demon's Souls, Infamous, Flower (surprisingly good, I was one of those that laughed at the game at first), Alan Wake, GOW3, WKC, Resonance of Fate, The Last Rebellion, Uncharted 1 and 2, Heavy Rain. Now notice I didn't mention FPS's, multiplats, nor longstanding series.
Ninty needs the fans to seriously do something to push such great series back or new IPs (please not another railshooter, deadspace could have been great...but whyyyy railshooter). They could definitely bring back Donkey Kong Country, Kirby, an UPDATED Megaman, another Castlevania that can at least come close to SOTN, hell even strike a deal with Sega so they can release a Kid Chameleon game (I still think that game was better than any Mario minus the multiplayer of NSMBW).

That's the thing, though. Those are fabricated memories. There was no such time. Perfect Dark was released three whole years after Goldeneye!
