It's not exactly a suprise. Why would anyone bother with the PC version after they removed so many features that are standard in PC gaming and then charged more for an inferior product. From what I hear the pirated copy is actually superior to the retail version as people have cracked it to include dedicated servers etc.
2 things are going to happen now. Either:
1. They learn and release a better copy on PC for MW3
2. They decide not to bother with MW3 on PC
Hopefully, it'll be the former. I wouldn't be suprised if it's the latter though.
