^^ fair points, but a few areas to touch upon

1 - How many of the past gen fitness games incorporated a means of physically tracking your exercise routine? The last I can recal was the Power Pad on the NES.

Many Dance Dance Revolution games had a "Workout" mode which prodivded a way to physically track your routine. You could check type of exercise done, excercise duration, and number of calories burned (though this was obviously crudely estimated). All of this was sorted by date/session. I haven't used it in years, but here's a brief description I found of the Workout mode from one particular DDR game that came out well before Wii Fit.

"You can input your weight and set a few options in order to configure your workout. You can specify if you want to exercise for a certain amount of time, or a certain amount of calories, and the system will craft an exercise routine just for you! It starts out slow to warm up, builds in intensity, and then slows down at the end to cool."
