Well, that depends on when you'd said it.
Around 2005, I would have thought "What are you smoking? The 360 ahead of the PS3?"
After E3 2006, I would have thought "Lol wut? The PS3 will probably have failed by then".
You can't compare its current performance to predictions from four years ago, because Sony's PR to begin with was like a blow to the head for PS3 sales, and the fact that they've made a console which launched at $600 sell at the same pace as one which launched a year earlier at $400, is an achievement for Sony, even you have to admit.
They took a failure, and made it a relevant, and dare I say successful, console.
