But it's not a problem of the series, it's a problem of the Wii userbase. Almost every sequel has always sold worse than the original game on the Wii. There's a problem there.

Sequels of largely casual games are selling badly. All these casual games are mainly the same so there isn't much incentive to buy sequels unlike other game series like RPGs and such. M&S is doing badly on the DS too for example. Even worse than the Wii one. Is that a problem with the userbase now...?

Sequels to every game. Sequels to Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, Winning Eleven, Dragon Ball, Pro Baseball Spirits, Gundam, Swing Golf, Sonic, Harvest Moon, The House of the Dead, those are not casual games. Even 1st party games like WS, M&S, Endless Ocean and Wii Fit sequels have done much poorly. Big hits like Taiko, Deca Sports, We Ski and Karaoke Joysound saw their sequels do much badly in comparison.

The userbase is increasing in size, while the games are selling less each time, be them new IP's or sequels to popular games. It's a problem of the userbase that has migrated to other consoles, otherwise you have to explain to me how sequels sell more each time on the PS3 but on the Wii, they are going down in sales with each iteration.

We will see how games like RE:DSC, Tatsunoko vs Capcom UA and Tales of Graces fare in comparison to the previous games.
