Funny how the wii outsells the PS3 by 400,000 units but it's a big deal that the PS3 outsold the 360 by 60,000.

On top of that Sony took a massive loss giving away 2 games with most of the PS3s sold. I thought they were supposed to make up the loss on the hardware by making money on the software. Hard to make money when you're giving it away for free.

Sarcastic, rude, and unfriendly comments my friend. Please be somewhat mature in the forums, for everyones sake.

I'm sorry if I came of as sarcastic and rude, that wasn't my intent. I have just found it puzzling that since the slim launch, anytime the PS3 outsells the 360 by a small amount, or outsells the wii in Japan by an even smaller amount it deserves a thread all about it. The PS3 outsold the wii in Japan by 10,000 units or so a few weeks ago and some of PS3 fans went nuts about it.

Also, no one in this thread has discussed why the PS3 did so well this week when it's pretty clear that Sony put together an incredible value for their customers. That is great for the consumer but not very good for Sony's bottom line. Their business model has been to sell hardware at a loss and recoup the loss and generate a profit with the sale of software. For alot of the new PS3 owners, who picked up the bundle, they probably won't be picking up very much software for a while.

Red - In america. Where the 360 has always had the upper hand... It's surprising to see PS3 > 360, no matter what happens. WW, despite 360 getting the $100 card thing and a whole bunch of MW2 advertising/bundles... PS3 still outsold it WW.

Blue - It's outsold the Wii in Japan since the slim/cut. Despite the Wii getting a pricecut too. On NSMB Wii week, expect the same thing from Ninty fans "Wii > PS3 again!" etc...

That is why these threads get made.
