That wouldn't be a meltdown. Perhaps a bit of surprise, but not a meltdown.

Let's look at current trends:

Wii > PS3

Wii > 360

PS3 > 360...but this could be overturned.

HD > Wii...but Wii > HD is pretty commonplace.

PSP > DS...but nobody cares about handheld sales...

That leaves one or both of the HD consoles being above the Wii. That's my prediction.

Clearly this will be the case as the Wii had the biggest increase of the year.

And the PSP doesn't have a single title on the chart, so the DS is naturally getting beat.

I made a mistake with the PSP and DS thing, it should be the other way around.

I'm simply pointing out what would cause a meltdown. There are five main trends in current console sales. Three of those trends could be overturned without too much fuss (okay, PSP > DS would cause quite a fuss, but it's impossible). Only two which would be surprising are possible.

If it was only one of those, I would say 360 > Wii. Of course, it could be none of them.
