Gears of War 2 sold 5.3m in 1 year

Gears of War 1 sold 4.4 m in the 1st year, 0.9m in the 2nd year, 0.6m in the 3rd year.

 

Gears 1 sold ~1700 copies per week. Gears 2 sold ~15000 copies per week. (since July)

Holiday boost will be much higher for Gears 2 and its already one year ahead if we align the launch.

 

It's only a 600k difference. After the holidays I expect it to shrink to 200k or so. It's only a matter of time and within a year it'll be over.
