think about it, if nintendo makes their main Mario games 2D, having another 3D platformer franchise makes more sense.

Why would Donkey Kong Country 4 be the replacement 3D platformer if it's part of a 2D franchise?

Ok, maybe it won't be called DKC4, but one can only dream. Point still stands, what if Donkey Kong overtook 3D Mario as a 3D platformer?

Wouldn't you want DKC to stay 2D also though? Out of the two I'd rather have Donkey Kong in 2D and Mario in 3D, although I'd prefer to have them both in 2D if I could. 3D platform titles are for the most part just not as well done in my opinion. They're like medium rare.

Of course, a 2D DK would be the best. But any main DK game will make me happy.
