Nobody in NA is buying a console for Tekken, and if by some miracle they are Tekken is available for the 360 as well. The reason Tekken was successful in the past in NA is because arcades were big 10 years ago. The ability to take the arcade to your living room or bedroom was huge. Arcades are almost obsolete here therefore the excitement and competition of going to the local arcade to prove yourself against someone in front of a group of spectators doesn't exist anymore. Therefore you don't get that feeling at home when you pop that game in. Yes its a fun game that I will contemplate purchasing but in the end Tekken will not sell that well. Don't forget MW2 is releasing about the same time as Tekken. Tekken will be lost in the shuffle pretty quickly. MW2 is just too huge. |
Tekken already has 119,000 preorders on PS3 in NA with 4 weeks left to release. ~40,000 more than the 360 version.
It will sell a lot.
Also, can you please explain how Street Fighter 4 has sold so well, if the arcade's aren't successful anymore?
