I actually don't find Pachter's prediction to be too outrageous most of the time, especially compared to a lot of other analysts. Having said that, in this case I really don't think the people who want to buy a Wii are going to care about a HDD.
Has he grasped why the Wii is popular? Its not because of the traditional console buyers that care about the features, its due to the new markets Nintendo has tapped into that couldn't care less about the features of the HD twins.
