Hey, In Zelda II: The Adventures of Link Zelda wasn't captured, but she was put to sleep in a palace you could roam around freely in 
And no, I don't care to play as Zelda, because then it would be 2vs1 when it comes to triforce pieces and then Ganon would be way to easy. At least he captures the second piece but can't use it so it's 1vs1
